How much does a website cost: what the price is made of

The price of a website depends on scope, features and materials. What drives it and how to compare quotes so you neither overpay nor underestimate.
Asking “how much does a website cost” is like asking “how much does a car cost”. The answer depends on what you need. Here is what the price is made of and what to watch for when comparing quotes.
What drives the price
- Scope. Five pages are a different job from twelve. More languages and a blog add content and testing.
- Features. A simple form costs less than bookings, payments or a link to another system.
- Materials. Design, copy and photos are separate work. If you provide them, the development price is lower.
- Timeline. Urgent projects take priority over other work.
Indicative ranges
For my services, a website of up to 5 pages begins at €990 excl. VAT, a company website of up to 12 pages begins at €1,990 excl. VAT and an e-shop begins at €3,500 excl. VAT. These are starting prices; I set the exact amount after a conversation. You can see more on the services page.
How to compare quotes
Ask what is included and what is not: design, copy, hosting, maintenance, the number of revision rounds. A cheap quote without these points often becomes expensive at the first change. Ask also who looks after the site after launch.
What to do next
If you know what kind of site you need, write to me and I will prepare a non-binding quote. If you are still deciding, see website development in Bratislava or custom e-shop development.
